Bigues
i Riells is a village of about 7000 inhabitants.
Like the majority of the villages nearby, its expansions
starts during the 70's, with multiple estates spread
through the hills arround. Traditionaly, it use
to have several small nucleus of picturesque farmhouses
.

village is at the heart of many interesting sites: the
surrounding mountains, known as Cingles
de Bertí, the river Tenes, small but with
beautiful scenery, and,
unique within the romanic architecture, Sant
Miquel del Fai and its waterfalls along the rocks
of Riscal. Being close to Barcelona and its metropolitan
area, the easy access to the main routes makes Bigues
i Riells the ideal base to organize visits to all the
leisure attractions and many places of interest of Catalonia.
This strategic geographic location explains the ever
increasing attraction to the village (up to double its
population in teh last ten years), people choosing to
live in Bigues and commute to Barcelona everyday.
